Pakistan stands ready to work with SCO states: PM Shehbaz during a meeting with Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Zhang Ming.
Zhang Ming, the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the successful hosting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting and its positive results.
He shared these sentiments during a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad today.
Zhang Ming also praised Pakistan’s active contributions to the SCO’s activities and expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s leadership role as the Chair of the SCO Council of Heads of Government.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the SCO Charter and assured the Secretary General that Pakistan would continue to work enthusiastically to promote the organization’s development goals for the benefit of all member states and the region.
He emphasized that Pakistan is ready to collaborate with SCO member states to strengthen and enhance the organization’s effectiveness.
The Prime Minister also thanked Zhang Ming for his dedication and excellent work as the outgoing SCO Secretary General, wishing him success in his future endeavors.
Recalling Zhang Ming’s previous visit to Pakistan in July 2022, the Prime Minister welcomed him again in Islamabad and expressed gratitude for the support provided by the SCO Secretariat in organizing the SCO Council of Heads of Government meeting.
