Fifty Chinese cities set up complaint centers for reporting intellectual property infringements in 2006.

The Ministry of Commerce says that the centers have been playing an important role in getting the public involved in intellectual property rights protection, with over 24,000 leads received as of the end of November.

They also took on the job of introducing China's intellectual property law to foreign-invested companies.

The Ministry promises to enhance the network nationwide this year and create an even better environment to encourage innovation.
