Valencia midfielder apologizes over Champions League incidents
(Xinhua)
Updated: 2004-12-10 11:01

Valencia midfielder Miguel Angel Angulo has apologized for his behavior during a bad-tempered Champions League match against Werder Bremen that has sparked UEFA probes of both sides, daily Marca reported on Thursday.

The player also said he would accept whatever sanction he was given by UEFA, in the hope that it might help repair the club's damaged image.

Angulo was sent off for an ugly tackle on Paraguayan striker Nelson Valdez, whose goals ended the Spanish champions' hopes of qualification. He also seemed to spit at Werder midfielder Tim Borowski as he walked off.

UEFA is investigating both incidents
