Caesarean section: 剖腹產

人們說，上帝在5月27日不小心打了個小盹兒，不然，怎能讓東西方娛樂圈里最引人關注的兩個“小公主”在同一天誕生？于是乎，一大幫娛記們在這一天忙得不亦樂乎，這邊既要關注王菲的第二次生育，那邊又要報道遠在納米比亞的安吉麗娜·茱莉。對于如此瑣碎的新聞，不管大家感興趣與否，至少它可以幫我們了解一個詞caesarean
section（剖腹產）。

The 36-year-old had a Caesarean section and both the baby and mother are

對于Caesarean，其實大家并不陌生，Caesar——凱撒大帝嘛！怎么跟生孩子掛在一起了？說白了，其實也挺簡單，傳說凱撒大帝為剖腹產所生，所以人們常用Caesarean，或Caesarean
birth，或者Caesarean section來形容“剖腹產”。例如：
It was a difficult birth; she had to
have a Caesarean. 因為難產, 她必須得做剖腹產手術。
另外，新聞中的labor常用來形容“分娩”，如a difficult labor（難產）；a natural
labor（自然分娩）。或者，我們也可用詞組in labor來形容“分娩”，如：
His wife is in labor.
她妻子正在分娩。
