Introduction
Relying on the rich Chinese medicine resources in Guizhou, the plans involve building a modern Chinese medicine industrial park in the Shawen Ecological Scientific Park, in Guiyang National Hi-Tech Development Zone, that integrates Chinese medicine processing and manufacturing. It will have a planned area of 133.33 hectares for the biomedicine industry and 66.67 hectares for the Chinese medicine industry. It will include six functional zones: a medicine processing and manufacturing zone, new products R&D zone, an exhibition zone, logistics and distribution zone, and a training zone and services zone.

Conditions for development and utilization
The advantageous natural conditions in Guizhou make it one of the four largest traditional Chinese medicine production locations in China, and many well-known Chinese medicines are originally from Guizhou. Traditional Guizhou medicine, especially ethnic Miao medicine, has achieved nationwide recognition and it is an important part of the Chinese medicine industry in Guizhou.
