The Olympic education program started soon after the city won its bid. Beijing has invited celebrities including Hollywood hero Jackie Chan and international sports star Michael Phelps to speak at schools and communities, to spread knowledge of the Olympic Movement and promote the themes of "Green Olympics", "Hi-Tech Olympics", and "People's Olympics".

Numbers Games

7 million tickets are available for the Beijing Olympics, 75 percent of which go to the China residents and the rest to international visitors.

More than 720,000 people in China have applied for over 5.18 million tickets in the first phase of the ticket sales, where tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as other prime events, have already been oversubscribed. An open draw will decide the lucky ones.
