A total of 47 new nominations, including Documents of the Nanjing Massacre from China, are inscribed on the Memory of the World Register by the International Advisory Committee of UNESCO's Memory of the World Programme, announced Friday UNESCO in a press release.
聯合國教科文組織10月9日公布了47個入選聯合國教科文組織世界記憶工程國際咨詢委員會《世界記憶名錄》的項目名單，其中，中國的南京大屠殺檔案榜上有名。

世界記憶名錄（Memory of the World Register）是指符合世界意義、經聯合國教科文組織世界記憶工程國際咨詢委員會（International Advisory Committee of UNESCO's Memory of the World Programme）確認而納入的文獻遺產（documentary heritage）項目。

根據世界記憶項目的定義，文獻遺產指的是具有信息內容和載體的一份、或有邏輯連貫性的一組文獻，如一個集合（a collection）、館藏（a holding）或檔案全宗（an archival fonds）。

在總共47個入選項目中，中國申報的南京大屠殺檔案（Documents of the Nanjing Massacre）入選，但另一份慰安婦檔案（Archives about "Comfort Women"）遺憾落選。

南京大屠殺檔案共分三部分，分別包括1937年至1938年，日本侵略軍占領南京期間大肆殺戮中國軍民和平民的檔案（the period of the massacre）；1945年至1947年，對日本戰犯調查和審判的檔案（documents of the post-war investigation and trials of war criminals）；以及1952年至1956年，中華人民共和國司法機構提供的文件（files documented by the judiciary authorities of the People's Republic of China ）。

至此，在被列入“世界記憶名錄”的346份文獻和文獻集合中，來自中國的已達到10份。
